Lovely Monday emails :)

I just received a lovely email from my little brother Elder Lasitani who is serving a full time mission in Orlando, Florida. (Spanish speaking) I love when he shares some of his spiritual experiences or writes about a lesson that he taught that always ends up really helping me out and something that I needed to hear, like today's email. John (my husband) and I plan on getting sealed in the temple sometime this summer. We're both trying to prepare ourselves spiritually and mentally so we have a better understanding of what being sealed as a family for time and all eternity really means. Elder Lasitani just reminded me of some of the basic guidelines that any member, active or inactive, of the church needs to do to build a firm foundation, which we then can build on. The basics are CPR, abbreviation for CHURCH, PRAYER, and READiNG. I love that...CPR! :) Like cardiopulmonary resuscitation (a procedure to support and maintain a persons breathing and circulation for a person who has stopped breathing), Church, prayer and reading are guidelines to support and maintain a members spirit and foundation for members who are inactive, as well as  those who are active or non-members. I hope that makes sense. Lol. That is exactly what John and I are doing. I love that Elder Lasitani gives us a reminder. At times we lack some of those guidelines, but the great thing about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is that we can repent and do better. We attend church (John when he isn't working Sunday's), taking temple prep, saying morning and evening prayers, and reading and pondering the scriptures. John has visits with our amazing bishop every couple weeks and we get weekly visits from the missionaries. :) We're getting there! I'm grateful for Elder Lasitani's spiritual emails! Also, love that we can still have normal conversations over emails and laugh.
Love&Miss you little brother! RTW!
